Whenever it's time for the Wednesday Poll, it always seems to surprise me that it's Wednesday already - every week! But here we are and it's Wednesday again, and it's time for our poll!
We decided last week that the denim shorts are one of our new favorite styles this season, though not far behind was the cardigan with gold buttons and the printed swimsuits Shade now offers!
This week in stores, the item of the week is our puckered tee. I have seen a lot of people around the office wearing it, and they look so cute and are comfy! I really like the puckered tee and it seems to go with everything. I love all the colors so much, I can't pick a favorite! Can you?

Recipes by CK: Oreo Mini Cheesecakes

Ok, so how many of you out there love Oreos? How about Cheesecake? How about you combine the two into cupcake size? Yep, pretty much the perfect dessert. Even better, it's crazy easy to do. This is one of my total "clutch" recipes. My mom made them for a lot of functions when I was growing up, and I've followed in her footseps (hopefully in more ways than one). These are always a crowdpleaser and a cinch to make! I mean honestly, what more could you ask for?

1 package of Oreo cookies
cupcake liners

3 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 T. lemon juice
2 t. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla together, till well blended. Set cream cheese mixture aside. Line cupcake pans with foil-lined cupcake papers. Place an Oreo cookie in bottom of each. Fill with cream cheese mixture 2/3 full. bake in 350° oven for 20 minutes; cool. Garnish with broken pieces of leftover cookies. Makes about 30 cakes.

Wednesday Poll

Taking a look back at last week's poll, it appears that black is the staple in every women's wardrobe. Not far behind is white, of course, so not to worry, these colors are also staples here at Shade and will continue to be for a long time to come.

This week I have a few things on my mind and have been wondering what to "poll" .. but after doing some very in depth thinking about a few of my questions.. I decided to land on this one.

"What to wear?"

The seemingly simple question we ask ourselves everyday sometimes isn’t always so simple. How many of you have that perfect jacket, but no clue on how to style it for day and evening, or that great top you can’t quite layer right. I know that I do and they just stay in the closet with the tags attached, collecting dust and ultimately taking up precious closet space! We here at Shade understand your pain and that is why we came up with a fun style guide to help you figure it out! We collected some of our employees own key wardrobe pieces and collided them with fun and flirty pieces from our Spring line to show you how to work it wherever you may be. Whether it is the flirty skirt and cardigan for a backyard bbq or the distressed jeans, silky shirt and cardigan for a night at the movies, whatever your style may be we have some pointers for you.

The first look is our new v.neck tee under our v.neck short sleeve cardigan w/ gold buttons paired with a dark wash jean, rolled for a little flair and some bronze heels. Accessorize with a scarf or necklace and fun bag. Or the vneck cardigan paired with Shade's new watermelon skinny bermuda shorts. Mixing casual and dressier pieces of your wardrobe together is a fun way to shake it up a bit.

The next look is a multicolor plaid button up, our cropped jacket with tie and our denim button tabbed shorts with bright wedges and a big bag to pull it all together. Rolling up your sleeves and tying the jacket in different ways will help keep your look unique and your own. Picking a color in the print to bring out in the shoes gives you a little bit of a ‘pop’ to stand out in the crowd!

The last look is our striped boyfriend tee {with the neck binding cut off for a unique look}, our peplum jacket and our new tulip skirt with cognac sandals. Push up the sleeves on the jacket and wear it open, accessorize minimally to emphasize the clothing. It’s a crisp clean look that has a shout out to the latest nautical styles.

I am stocking up on spring clothing for an upcoming vacation and finally purchased the denim button tabbed short this week. I can't wait to wear it with just about everything in my wardrobe. The tapered leg is universally flattering and now I can live in denim year round. Finding a great short is not an easy task - I searched high and low last summer without finding a single short I wanted to buy - so I'm thrilled to have a brand new pair in my wardrobe long before summer arrives.

I also purchased the striped boyfriend tee this week. This tee became a favorite when it first hit the racks last spring and each season a new one inevitably finds its way into my closet. Although I held back and only purchased the grey stripe this week, I have a feeling both the navy and magenta stripe will be added to my wardrobe before summer is over.

Wednesday Poll Day

Well ladies, its Wednesday's Poll Day . Let's start by reviewing last weeks' poll... it looks like many of you just can't live without the Shade cap sleeve !
